Dr. Emmett accepts some traditional insurance plans. For those plans, the staff will gladly generate and submit claims. All co-insurance payments will be collected at the time of service. We do not participate in Medicare, Managed care, or HMO dental or medical plans. In addition, we do not submit to secondary insurance companies.
We will be as helpful as possible in investigating and answering all medical and dental insurance questions.
Please keep in mind that the insurance policy that you subscribe to is your insurance policy. There are hundreds of insurance policies available. You must have knowledge of your particular insurance policy prior to service rendered by Dr. Emmett. This means having your card available at the time of your appointment and presenting it to Dr. Emmett’s staff. We also ask that you speak to your insurance company prior to your visit and understand if you have met your deductible or used your allowed benefits for the calendar or contract year.
There’s nothing worse then thinking you have insurance to cover a particular service then finding out the service is not covered.
Again, we will be as helpful as possible. However, understanding your own insurance is your responsibility and a key element to enjoying a pleasant experience with our practice.
Commonly Asked Questions
Does my medical insurance cover dental extractions or dental procedures?
Medicare or its Supplemental Carriers may not cover dental procedures. Medical procedures such as biopsies, bone grafts, and removal of impacted teeth may be covered by some medical insurances. Again, it is your responsibility to check your insurance coverage prior to any procedures.
Are dental implants covered by my insurance?
It varies with individual insurance plans. Therefore it is best that you call your insurance company to determine coverage. In the event your insurance company does cover dental implants, our office will submit a pre-determination form to your insurance company so that you will know your coverage in advance. Please refer to your Employee Benefit Handbook to verify if you have coverage for dental implants before you schedule.
